  • The Echuca Moama Bridge project involves a new bypass link road with new bridge crossings of the Campaspe and Murray Rivers and associated flood relief structures. The new link road will provide a much needed alternative route between Echuca and Moama townships and greatly relieve traffic congestion. The existing Echuca Moama Bridge was constructed in 1878 and is a well-loved landmark. The design competition was seeking - “a design the local community would be proud of and be recognisable as the Echuca Moama Bridge”

The design concept was for a tied steel arch bridge which was simple and elegant and which created a striking and memorable profile. The Murray arched bridge would clearly visible from a long distance away, thus creating a landmark identity that assists in navigation and orientation around the two towns of Echuca and Moama
