In 2018 the practice completed a new freestanding Member’s Annexe in the eastern gardens of Parliament House for 102 members. The new office accommodation has created the opportunity to refurbish and extend parts of the East Wing of Parliament House. This involves re-establishing original internal spaces and light courts previously filled in. The new works include new lifts and stairways connecting all internal levels and linking directly into the new Annexe building. The existing attic spaces will be refurbished and extended with a new circulation system, offices and meeting rooms. The works are complex due to the nature of the heritage fabric and have been staged to minimise disruption to the working Parliament.
