Kinglake Ranges Cultural & Community Facility

Master Plan

Client: Department of Planning & Community Development
Status: Complete 2012
Location: Kinglake, Victoria, Australia

Team with Taylor Cullity Lethlean

Undertaken jointly with Taylor Cullity Lethlean, this master plan provides for a proposed new community and cultural facility in Kinglake. Identified as a key community recovery project following the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires, the facility has been developed in partnership with Parks Victoria to co-locate the Kinglake National Park Visitor Information Centre as well as a rebuilt depot and offices alongside the community facility. Located on Gangelhoff Hill with stunning views to the city, the facility has been planned to engage with its setting, the local environment and the Kinglake community. The master plan involved extensive community consultation.

“…the Community Cultural Facility concept was exciting and responded well to the aspirations for such a facility for the Kinglake Ranges…the group had a very positive response to the master plan.”
