Bendigo Botanic Gardens, Garden of the Future

Client: City of Greater Bendigo
Status: Completion 2017

Team: Taylor Cullity Lethlean with Peter Elliott Architects

The Garden for the Future is a visionary and inspiring project located at the Bendigo Botanic Gardens, White Hills. Designed by TCL, the garden will celebrate the past, appreciate the present and embrace the future. The TCL master plan will be implemented in stages as funds allow. It makes provision for a future visitor centre and wetlands as a major attractor. The garden features a loop promenade, a grand central lawn and a series of dynamic display gardens.

The Outreach Shelter is located at the south end of the central fun & fantasy lawn as a destination and place of interest. It will provide a place for visitors to shelter, gather, celebrate and engage. The facility includes public toilets, storage and space for performances, functions and events. The foreground lawn is set down at a lower level to create a north facing stage.
